LAHORE: The City District Government of Lahore (CDGL) on Tuesday asked administrations of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) and the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) to share the loadshedding schedule with the city administration and follow government’s instructions of no loadshedding at Sehr and Iftar.

Presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday, District Coordination Officer retired Capt Muhammad Usman asked both the companies to intensify the move against electricity and gas theft in coordination with city government officers.

He also directed the officials to ensure 100pc recovery from those involved in theft.

CHIEF SECRETARY: Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema’s visit to Gulshan-i-Ravi Ramazan Bazaar made the senior officials feel panicky.

Sources in the CDGL told Dawn as soon as Commissioner Rashid Mahmood Langrial and DCO Muhammad Usman heard about expected arrival of the chief secretary, they rushed to Gulshan-i-Ravi and reviewed the arrangements.

“The CS visited stalls of fruits, vegetables, flour and sugar. He also took a feedback from the shoppers there and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements,” an official, who was present on the occasion, said. He said the CS also directed the officials to focus on the issues related to Ramazan arrangements.

ARREST: Two hundred vendors were reportedly arrested by the price control magistrates in last two days for overcharging, hoarding and selling substandard commodities in the open market.

The price magistrates also imposed a fine of over Rs150,000 on several vendors.

AUCTION: The auction of 27 plots owned by the Lahore Development Authority will be held on Wednesday (today) at 10am at its community centre, New Muslim Town, a statement said.
