Woman in Dera Ghazi Khan gang-raped

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A woman in Dera Ghazi Khan died after being gang-raped, DawnNews reported.

According to reports, the girl had become friends with one of the accused via phone.

A resident of Sheikhupura District, the girl was brought to Dera Ghazi Khan from Lahore by the accused, where he and two of his companions then gang-raped the girl.

DSP city Nasrallah Warraich said that the accused have confessed to committing the crime and a case has now been registered against them.

After the girl's condition deteriorated, the accused took her to district headquarter hospital, left her there and then fled. The girl had already died when she was left at the hospital.

The three men were later arrested, according to the police, are cousins. The primary accused is a married man with three children.

Obviously these rapists either think they can get away with this horrendous crime or the penalties are not stiff enough, that they continue not to be deterred! How about 100 lashes and life in prison? I bet the few minutes of pleasure that they got would not outweigh years of suffering! Our women need to be protected against these thugs, who lack common sense and would not hesitate doing it again, if they are let free!

it is shocking and more shocking are the comments of people who are trying to blame systems for such crimes the fact we are not ready to accept it that as a society we have become brutal, stubborn and rigid not ready to respect anything. We are always eager to cover the women but at the same time do not force men to have respect for women. We are society where woman has to commit suicide as society stigmatize her but man moves with all pride no system can stop rape unless we come out from our sick mentality and change our attitude
