ABBOTTABAD: Ghazanfar Mahmood clinched the 24th Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Open Golf Championship title at the Piffers Golf Course here on Monday.
The veterans amateurs first net title was won by retired Col Mushtaq while the senior amateurs gross was claimed by Col Arif and first net by Col Shahid, said a press release issued by the ISPR.
The amateurs (HCP 10 to 16) gross was won by Raheem Bali and first net by Arsalan Khan.
In the ladies category, Ami Qin registered the first net position while Tahira Nazir was the runner-up. Amateur (HCP 9 and below) first net was won by Ziaref while the first gross by Ghazanfar Mahmood.
Minhaj was given consolatory prize.
In boys U-13 category, Faizan Ali won the title while Arbab Nadir seized the U-18 boys crown.
Corps Commander Lt Gen Khalid Rabbani distributed prizes amongst the winners and said Pakistan Army had restored the Swat Golf Course to promote the sport in the province.
Earlier in his welcome address, Brig Zakir Hussain extended facilitation to the management of the Piffer Golf Course for assisting in the hosting such a prominent event.
