KHAR: Two security personnel were killed in separate bomb explosions along Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Nawagai tehsil of Bajaur tribal agency on Saturday.

The FC troops were on patrolling duty when improvised explosive devices planted by militants along roads in Bara Kamangara and Charmang went off, officials said.

After the blasts, security forces and members of village defence committees cordoned off the two areas and carried out search operations. However, no arrest was reported.

Bodies of the troops were shifted to Khar and later sent to their native areas.

Omar Khurasani , leader of the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan Mohmand Agency, claimed responsibility for the attacks.

AFP adds: “Two soldiers embraced shahadat in Bajaur today in two different improvised explosive device blasts planted by terrorists along roadside in Bara Kamangara area and near a Pakistani post on Pak-Afghan border respectively,” the military authorities said in a statement.
