QUETTA: In a joint operation, Frontier Corps (FC) and Sindh Rangers claimed to have killed eight militants at Sindh-Balochistan border on Tuesday night, an official said.

Khan Wasey, a spokesman for the FC said that three paramilitary personnel were injured during the exchange of fire. The injured personnel were shifted to hospital in Panu Aqil for medical treatment, he added.

“There is still fighting ongoing between forces and miscreants,” Wasey said, adding that both sides were using heavy weapons against each other.

The FC spokesman said that exchange of fire was going on near Pat Feeder area close to the border separating Sindh and Balochistan provinces.

“Forces have also arrested some miscreants,” he said.

More troops were called in the area to bring the situation under control. Wasey said the miscreants were involved in attacks at vital national installations and on security forces.
