PESHAWAR: At least four people were injured Saturday from an explosion in Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said.

According to SP City Faisal Mukhtar, the improvised explosive device (IED) exploded outside the house of a local trader in Kohati Gate area.

Mukhtar said unidentified militants had hidden the explosives in a pile of clothes, which blew up when the attackers hurled it outside his residence.

Police said the blast injured four people who were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital for emergency treatment.

Security officials cordoned off the site and initiated investigation into the incident.
