SUKKUR: Family members and relatives of a missing girl along with members of the Hindu and Sindh communities of Jacobabad took out a rally in their continuing protest over police failure to make any progress in recovering her.

The girl, Rani Bagri, had gone missing several weeks ago after leaving her house in Jan Mohammad Talani Colony and her family lodged a kidnapping case against a neighbour and his brothers. The family believes that the suspects had taken the girl to the Dargah Bharchandi, where she was forced to convert.

Police have so far failed to find a clue to the teenage girl and the prime suspect nominated in the FIR.

The rally, led by the girl’s father, was taken out from Shaheed Allah Bukhsh Park and ended at the local press club, where the participants held a sit-in.

They raised slogans against the area police and condemned the alleged forced conversion. They demanded immediate recovery of the girl and action against those involved in her ‘kidnapping’.
