PATNA: The Bihar Women’s War Work Organisation which is a component body of the Provincial Red Cross has been able to supply 34,302 garments and articles made by Ladies Work Parties in the Province to military hospitals and convalescent camps for the benefit of sick soldiers both Indian and British.

Indian soldiers in military hospitals have proved to be excellent knitters, according to reports on the progress of diversionary therapy in such hospitals where it has been tried with great success and comprises many handicrafts including embroidery, leather work and knitting.

[Meanwhile;] Aircraft carrying mail for the Air Forces in India and Ceylon fly nearly a million miles a month. Mail for the Royal Air Force in India passes through R.A.F. Base Postal Units which are located at strategic points in various parts of the country. At one of these depots alone 50 bags of all types of mail are handled each day and the total weight lifted by air monthly throughout India and Ceylon reaches 50 tons. (Dawn, Delhi)
