RAWALPINDI: Frontier College Women FC Peshawar and Soccer Queens Club Rawalpindi recorded contrasting victories on the second day of the National U-16 Inter Club Women’s Football Championship at the Divisional Public School’s football ground here on Wednesday.
In the first match of the day, Frontier College overcame Fatima Jinnah Women FC Karachi 1-0.
After a goalless first-half where both teams played brilliantly but couldn’t find the back of the net, Fauzia made the breakthrough in the 45th minute with her goal proving to be the winner.
The second game proved to be a one-sided one as Soccer Queens thrashed Young Rising Stars (YRS) Layyah 4-0 with Nimra Shakil and Zara Waheed bagging two goals each.
Soccer Queens dominated possession in the first-half with Nimra and Zara netting a goal each in the space of two minutes to put their side firmly in control by the 10th minute.
Nimra made it 3-0 in the 26th as Soccer Queens put the game to bed before half-time and Zara piled on the misery for YRS Layyah with her second in the 52nd.
