GUJRAT: Three people were gunned down in a drive-by shooting by two people on a motorcycle on Tuesday along GT Road allegedly by their rivals in Civil Lines police jurisdiction.

The victims – Mudassar Beg, Shahbaz Beg and Waqas Beg, all relatives to each other – were traveling in a car when came under fire.

Mudassar died at the scene while Waqas and Shahbaz succumbed to their injuries at Aziz Bhatti Shaheed hospital.

Mudassar and Shahbaz were from village Pindi Latti while Waqas was from Lalamusa. The attackers are stated to be from the Kashi Gujjar group of Tanda.

Gujrat District Police Officer Rai Ijaz Ahmad said an enmity between the two sides had caused the bloodshed. Police had yet to register a case till this page hitting the press.

In an unrelated incident, Habeeb Shah was shot dead in firing by an unidentified man on Ramtalai Road in Lorry Adda police jurisdiction on Tuesday evening. Police started investigation and shifted the body to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed hospital for an autopsy.
