MIRPURKHAS: A murder case was registered against five Rangers men late on Thursday evening at the Khensar police station of Chhachhro taluka on the orders of the Tharparkar district and sessions judge at Mithi, sources said.

The Rangers personnel, Mohammad Razzaque, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Khalil, Karamat Hussain and Mazhar Hussain, were nominated in a complaint filed in the court under Section 22 A of the Criminal Procedure Code by Mir Noor Ahmed Talpur, who stated that his five relatives riding a jeep had gone to a gaming area in Chhachhro taluka for hunting on April 7.

He stated that the Rangers men fired on the jeep seriously wounding two of its occupants Mir Nasir Talpur and Mir Mohammad Ali Talpur.

He further stated that three other occupants of the vehicle were taken away by the Rangers party to the Khensar police station, where an attempted murder case was lodged by the security personnel against the entire hunting team. The complainant informed the court that Mir Nasir succumbed to his wounds a couple of days later.

He prayed to the court to direct the police station concerned to register a murder case against the Rangers men as the SHO was not obliging the affected families in this regard.

On Thursday, the court heard the counsel for the two sides and ordered the Khensar SHO to register a murder FIR against the nominated Rangers men.

In compliance with the court’s order, a case (12/2014) was registered under Sections 302, 324, 342 and 337 F (i) 337 A (i) of the Pakistan Penal Code against the nominated Rangers personnel late on Thursday evening.
