What do the high-ups in the federal government know about Cricket? Why are they putting pressure to elect Afridi as the next Captain? It's 2014, it's time for the government to get out of the Cricket business.

Players should be able to say what they will. Freedom of speech is important. Decision on captain should be made on merit, not on Govt. pressure.

Cronyism (friends appointing friends or friends of friends) is the name of the game. The shah ji, the sain ji, the saab ji culture must come to an end. Changing the captain will not solve the problem. Cricket must be snatched away from the grip of a few who continue to play politics. Unless the chairman, the selection committe, the manager, the coach, the captain, the trainer, each is free to act within their circle of power and decision making, and no one oversteps their circle, we will continue to face crises. Shahid Afridi has been a huge asset for Pakistan but he has failed to show maturity. I hope all eyes are on Pakistan's future.

The curse of our society is that mediocres are excelling in every walk of life. Mediocre Political Leaders, mediocre Chairman PCB, mediocre Captain Cricket team........... so on and so forth. I wish to laugh with hate at PCB's reaction to Afridi's interview. PCB is a useless body minting money and doing nothing. Amongst all the cricket boards of regular test playing nation, PCB is the weakest, insecured & inefficient organisation. Make Rashid Latif the board's chairman & I can bet Pakistans re dominance in cricket within 3 years. Mr. Sethi should resign & better concentrate in journalism, managing cricket is not his cup of soup.

@Rogers Evans: If a player is in breech of a contract, then he has to answer for it. Even if it is just an allegation. If need be- then yes he should be discarded as a player- Regardless of how good or bad a player may be.

@Sajid. Afridi did not breach any terms of contract. When he landed at Karachi Airport, the media persons asked him all sorts of questions. He was obliged to answer questions. He never called Press Conference. Openly the wolves in PCB have to take aim at their prey in order to hide their own failures. Afridi is being made a scape goat.

T20 cricket selection is not done by selectors but by bookies. Ever wonder why certain players like Kamran Akmal and Shoab Malik keeps on making back to the T20 world cup without any justifable reason? Afridi was correct that we did lose T20 due to Top order batsmen out of which 3 to 4 were definatley playing for the interest of bookies. PCB knows this as it may be very well itself on payroll for these bookies therefore the show cause notice. Why cant a player express his views to public? Why is there no freedom of speech. Afridi should now initiate a new era in cricket by creating his own team, preferably from the KPK & FATA, region who have a completely different mindset and do not like losing.
