TOBA TEK SINGH: Six people, including four siblings, received burns as the gas cylinder of their van caught fire due to leakage, burning the van completely, at the Pirmahal bus stand on Thursday.

Police said a fire broke out as soon as the driver started his van. Passengers left the van, however, six of them, including two women and four brothers, got late in getting out and received burns.

The injured -- Sumera Altaf, 30, Sakina Bibi, 42, and four brothers of Chak 342-GB, Choharwala, Afzal, 13, Sajid, 10, Ansar, 9, and Usman, 8 -- were admitted to THQ Hospital, Pirmahal. The van was completely burnt.

TERMINATED: Gojra Assistant Commissioner Syed Tanweer Murtaza terminated a revenue patwari from service over involvement in a land transfer fraud.

Patwari Qari Muhammad Nawaz of Chak 429-JB had allegedly forged signatures of former tehsildar Roomi Hasan Shah and made transfer of two properties.

Gojra tehsildar Chaudhry Maqbool Ahmad was deputed as inquiry officer who confirmed that Nawaz was involved in the fraud.
