RAWALPINDI: A thirteen-year-old girl was kidnapped from New Amarpura and, later, found semi-conscious with a fractured skull in a nearby ground, on Sunday morning, the police said.

The victim left her house but failed to arrive at her uncle’s home on the same street on Saturday at 11:30pm.

The girl’s father told Dawn that after a thorough search of the area, the victim was found in a nearby ground the next morning at 9:30am.

She was shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, but she has yet to regain consciousness.

The father said that when he asked his daughter about the culprit, she pointed towards a 45-year-old neighbour.

The man was arrested but denied the charges. However, a police interrogation is yet to take place.

Medical examination report will clarify if the girl was sexually assaulted.

According to preliminary report, the girl had been hit with a brick and was lying on the ground for seven hours.
