I am a big Altaf hussain hater. However, this is the first statement from him that makes sense. Democracy = corruption by political parties and making money at the expense of people's misery. Democracy has not given anything to the people of pakistan. its time for army to take over so we can all live in peace.

You are 100% right .Democracy in Pakistan is a dirty profession in which for many years these corrupt , good for nothing politician are involved and use all kind of dirty and shameful resources and tactics to rob and damage Pakistan to maximum benefits of their families and themselves. Army rule has always brought stability in different organs/ sectors of country and security for individuals and has always given a good system of internal control re checks and balances. Most of developments in Pakistan took place under Gen Ayub and Gen. Musharraf rules. In those good old days people have jobs and small or big businesses were flourishing .Food prices were right & available.In short most of people in Pakistan were happy and quite well off.

For a change I agree with MQM Chief Altaf Hussain. No doubt the state takes preference over the sham democracy. In his previous tenure as PM, Nawaz Sharif, sold country's assets, ruined its economy and made an attempt to divide the military, which was frustrated by few generals on the ground. Now is doing almost the same, selling almost all the remaining assets of the country, pitching Taliban against the Army to weaken it. According to seemingly authentic reports Nawaz Sharif is trying to sell Balochistan

The country comes first. There is no question that democracy is a better form of government than dictatorship but if democratic government cannot establish the rule of law and its actions / inaction can potentially lead to complete chaos, there is no other option except for army to take the helm. That said, I don't believe we are at the point where such drastic actions need to be taken. I am no fan of Nawaz Sharif but he must be given credit that he is actually doing something to alleviate the situation. He brought the issue on the table instead of ignoring it, as was the case with PPP government. Although I personally disagree with "talks" with TTP, Nawaz Sharif had unanimous support from all other parties in this matter. When the talks didn't provide any results, he gave the go ahead for targeted strikes against TTP. The previous "democratic" government did nothing about this problem. They pretended as if nothing is wrong. At best they did some lip service but no action was taken even though it was during their time that the country suffered the most damage. Till their last day in power, they were busy in looting the national coffers. PML is not a party of angels. They do their fair share of corruption but the at least the country sees some return. Let us hope our democratic government does its job and that day doesn't come when Army needs to take over.

Like him or loath him, he is right, you may hate the person but the MQM policy is right for Pakistan, though the image of MQM may be tarnished by false propaganda which will never hold any waters in the court of law, but the people have to be intelligent not to vote for their usual corrupt masters. It is time for them to wake up to what Altaf is saying, he has no intention to become a Prime Minister, nor anyone from his family is given any position, he is for the people of Pakistan regardless of cast colour creed, rich or poor. Pakistan is, what its voters are, voting for MQM is voting for Musharraf, two will unite to lead Pakistan out of crisis just like after the 9/11.
