CHAKWAL: A woman was tortured to death by her in-laws, police sources said on Friday.

The 27-year-old victim, a resident of Silanwali in Sargodha district, was married to a resident of Mustafaabad village in tehsil Choa Saidan Shah nine years ago.

According to the woman’s father he came to know from another person that his daughter had passed away a day ago.

He rushed to the home of his daughter in Choa Saidan Shah and was told by some witnesses that she had been tortured to death by her husband and his three brothers.

When the police reached the crime scene, they found the face and neck of the woman swollen.

The killers escaped with other family members.

“The postmortem has confirmed that the woman was strangled to death and also beaten by the killers,” Investigation Officer Mansoor Mazhar said while talking to Dawn.

He said the killers would be arrested soon. “We have registered a case of murder against the four accused,” he said. — Correspondent
