Saudi FM to visit Pakistan on Jan 6

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al Faisal will be visiting Pakistan on Jan 6 on a two-day-long trip which is being viewed as one carrying an important message to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from the kingdom's leadership, DawnNews reported.

Foreign Ministry sources confirmed that the Saudi foreign minister will be holding talks with Prime Minister Sharif and the premier's advisor on foreign policy and national security Sartaj Aziz.

The coming meeting will be the first high-level contact between the two countries since the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz came to power.

The Saudi foreign minister and the Pakistani leadership will discuss bilateral ties and the situation in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

Faisal’s visit is also being viewed in the light of latest developments in the treason case against former dictator Pervez Musharraf who is regarded as close to the Saudi regime and sources said the issue is highly likely to come under discussion.

Deja Vu'............wasn't too long ago when the Saudi Sheikhs came to rescue Nawaz Sharif and family. It's the Generals turn now. I would like to see what Mr. Tsunami Khan will have to say on these turn of events.

Conditions of Pakistanis working and living in Saudi Arabia should be the top of agenda. What are these bilateral issues, people must know. Do these bilateral issues concerns Sharif brothers only, or of concern to the people of Pakistan.

@Saad(DXB): And we should not be surprised by the upcoming headline news"Saudi Arabia" has pledged to supply Pakistan with oil for the next five years at a special rate, to help offset Pakistan's energy difficulties. A win- win situation for Saudis, considering the fact that they now have surplus oil, due to lack of demand by their biggest market.
