KARACHI: Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested an Indian fisherman who had escaped from Landhi jail early this year.

SSP East Syed Pir Mohammed Shah said that the PIB police acting on a tip-off raided the hideout of Kishor Bhagwan near the Esa Nagri graveyard and arrested him. They handed him over to the Shah Latif police station where an FIR (64/2013) had been registered under Section 224 (resistance or obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension) and 225-A (omission to apprehend or sufferance of escape on part of public servant) of the Pakistan Penal Code.He had escaped from the jail on Feb 13, the officer said.
