ISLAMABAD, Nov 7: At least six persons, including three members of a family, were killed in three separate road accidents in Islamabad on Wednesday, police said.

A speeding Lahore-bound bus (MRC-2198) crushed to death Rehana Kausar, 27, her daughter Sana Kausar, 5, 11-month-old son Zulqarnain and another old woman, Iqbal Bibi while crossing the road near Zia Masjid. All of them died on the spot.

A large number of people from the surrounding areas helped the police to shift the bodies to a hospital.

The bus driver escaped from the scene.

In another accident, a five-year-old girl was killed and another seven-year-old girl was injured after being run over by a speeding car in the I-9 area, the police said.

Abdullah, a resident of Islamabad, told the police that the two girls, Sonia Bibi and Bhukhi Bibi, were crossing the road when a speeding car hit them. As a result, Sonia Bibi died on the spot. The injured, Bhukhi Bibi, was taken to Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi, where she is stated to be out of danger. The car driver managed to escape from the scene.
