TIMERGARA, Nov 9: Four persons, including three brothers and their mother, were on Saturday killed and two others were injured when a close relative opened indiscriminate fire on them here.

Balambat police said that the incident occurred when a sniffer dog entered the house of Muzaffar Khan at Piendy Kas Munjai village in connection with a theft case.

Asghar Khan, son of Muzaffar Khan, got furious and opened fire on Mohammad Khan’s family, killing his three sons and injuring his wife and two other relatives. Wife of Khan later breathed her last in a hospital in Peshawar, said the police.

The dead brothers were identified as Atta-ur-Rahman, Habib-ur-Rahman and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman.

The police said that Atta-ur-Rahman was MBBS final year student. The two other injured included son-in-law and daughter-in-law of Muhammad Khan who were admitted to a local hospital.

Two days ago, Muhammad Khan registered a theft case against Muzaffar Khan, after which the police brought the sniffer dogs to his house, said the police.

According to the villagers, Asghar Khan was the cousin of the victims’ family.

The village wore a mournful look when four bodies were brought there for burial.

The accused escaped the scene. The police registered case against Asghar Khan and started search to arrest him.
