QUETTA: Militants on Wednesday attacked a house located near Awaran where rescue teams were stationed, DawnNews reported.

According to military sources, two rockets were fired at a house located three kilometres away from Awaran.

Pakistan Army rescue personnel were present in the house at the time of the attack, after which the miscreants managed to escape the scene.

Military sources related that no lives were lost in the attack.

So far, rescue teams have been attacked five times, and two soldiers have been killed since the Sept 24 earthquake.

Awaran is considered one of the most sensitive and troubled districts of Balochistan, which is Pakistan's largest province by area. According to the chief minister, the district has had no government for the past decade, which has led to miscreants trying their best to compromise relief efforts in the area.
