PESHAWAR, Oct 25: The deputy commissioner Peshawar on Friday imposed section 144 CrPC banning the unauthorised sale of Afghan SIMs except customer service outlets or registered and authorised agents and franchises.

Anyone found violating the order would be proceeded against under section 188 of the PPC, according to a notification issued here.

Meanwhile, the Peshawar deputy commissioner also banned firing in the air in the limits of Peshawar district.

Anyone found violating the order would be punishable under section 188 PPC. The order would remain enforced for 30 days.

Also, the deputy commissioner, under article 144 CrPC, banned letting of houses, buildings on rent to non-locals without observing the codal formalities.

All the property dealers and owners of the houses and property were asked to provide a copy of the agreement reached between them and the tenants.

They were also asked to submit copies of machine readable passports, CNICs to the respective police stations, and the housing authority.No building shall be rented out to non-locals without prior registration in the concerned police stations. If anyone found violating the orders, shall be proceeded against under section 188 PPC, said the order.

The order would remain enforced for period of thirty days.—APP
