Local journalist shot dead in Karak

KARAK: Local journalist Ayub Khattak was shot dead by unknown assailants in Takht Nusrati area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak district on Saturday.

Police said Khattak had just come out of his house when unknown assailants started to fire at him.

Eye-witnesses said the two attackers, riding a motorcycle were waiting outside the residence of the slain journalist and as he appeared, one of them started firing with a 30 bore pistol, killing Khattak.

His body was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital for autopsy.

The motive behind the killing was not clear as Khattak’s family members said they had no enmity with anyone.
