MPA from Hangu joins PTI

PESHAWAR, Sept 2: The newly elected Member of Provincial Assembly from Hangu, Shah Faisal Khan, formally joined Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf here on Monday.

He made an announcement to this effect in a meeting with Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at his office. A 40-member delegation of the elders of Hangu also accompanied the MPA, according to a handout.

Shah Faisal is the brother of Farid Khan, who was killed in a firing incident soon after being elected MPA in the last general elections. Farid Khan had contested general elections as independent candidate but joined PTI after winning the elections.

Faisal Khan also won by-election as an independent candidate from the same constituency but decided to join PTI on the desire of the delegation. Speaking on the occasion, the MPA said that he would strive to carry on the mission of his late brother. He said that aim of his politics was to serve the downtrodden segments of the society therefore he decided to join PTI as a proper political platform.

Mr Khan reposed full confidence in the leadership of Pervez Khattak and Imran Khan. He assured the chief minister that he would extend any kind of support to the provincial government in the implementation of its agenda.

The members of the delegation also apprised the chief minister of the problems and difficulties faced by the people of the area. They discussed with him matters related to the welfare of the people and development of the area.

On the complaint of the delegation, the chief minister directed the authorities of health department to submit a report regarding delay in construction of the new building of district headquarters hospital, Hangu.

The chief minister also issued instructions to the quarters concerned to take necessary measures regarding the construction of public parks and new housing schemes in Hangu.

Mr Khattak issued directives to the authorities of local government to look into the feasibility of establishing Hangu Development Authority and submit a report to that effect.

He assured the delegation of allocating funds for a new water supply scheme in Hangu in the next budget and directed the authorities of public health engineering department to carry out survey of the scheme.

The chief minister also assured the delegation of allocating funds in the next annual budget for the establishment of a degree college, a technical college and repair of roads in the district.

Mr Khattak also directed the high-ups of higher education department to submit a summary to upgrade a degree college in the area to postgraduate level.
