SUKKUR, July 28: A woman was killed by her husband on Sunday on the pretxt of karo-kari in Mistri Sabzoi village, within the remit of in A-Section police station in Kandhkot, Kandhkot-Kashmore district.

Daleel Sabzoi suspected that his wife, Darya Khatoon, had relations with someone from the neighbourhood. He shot her dead inside their house and then fled the scene.

The local police shifted the body to Civil Hospital Kandhkot from where it was handed over to relatives after post-mortem.

No case was registered till Sunday evening.

Man electrocuted A labourer was electrocuted to death in Bashirabad area near Pano Akil in Sukkur district on Sunday.

The victim, identified as Bashir Ahmed Khawaja, had been working at an under-construction Mahar Cotton Factory in Bashirabad when the iron rod in his hand touched a live 11 kilowatt transmission line. Consequently, he received a severe electrical shock and died on the spot.

The body was brought to his native of Bhawalpur.
