IT is interesting to note that Pakistan’s electronic media is practically silent on the defining change that some Muslim countries in our region and beyond are going through.

The media is specially silent on the intriguing story developing in Bangladesh over the last few months. It has been completely ignored.

That country has taken a sharp turn towards secularism with death sentences handed out to senior Jamaat-i-Islami leaders over alleged war crimes of 1971. The electronic media is equally and unbelievably deficient in its coverage of events in Turkey, Syria and Egypt.

I wish our electronic media finds a balance between local and so far completely absent international coverage.
