KHAIRPUR, July 22: The three-day Urs of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast begins on Tuesday at Daraza Sharif, 60km from here.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah is scheduled to arrive at Daraza Sharif on 14th of Ramazan and lay wreath on the grave of the Sufi saint and poet of Sindh.

He will also inaugurate ceremonies of Urs, attend Mahfil-i-Sama and listen to the songs of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast from his followers in their traditional style, lay the foundation stone of Sachal Garden at Daraza Sharif and open Sachal Museum Corner.

Concerts, Mushaira and an Adabi conference will also be held on the occasion. Devotees of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast from India, Bangladesh, Iran, Turkey and other countries have also started arriving.

All arrangements have been finalised by Sachal Yadgar Committee Khairpur under supervision of Khairpur Deputy Commissioner Munawar Ali Mithani who is also committee chairman.

A conflict between Sajaada Nasheen Dr Sakhi Qabool Muhammad Farooqi and Sachal Yadgar Committee over some issues has also been resolved, however, Dr Farooqi is still angry and has threatened to boycott official ceremonies of Urs.—PPI
