I WOULD like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned, especially the Chief Justice, towards the news aired on almost all TV channels a few days before the elections.

In this news report, women activists of Jamia Hafsa (Lal Masjid) were shown sporting prohibited length daggers and sophisticated weaponry under command of the wife of Imam of Lal Masjid, Umm-i-Hasan, who herself was carrying a prohibited bore automatic weapon, destroying portraits/hoardings of Pervez Musharraf and other candidates of his party.

Did any law-enforcement agency take any note of this? Did our Chief Justice take any suo motu action on it? Or are we all waiting for the situation to escalate so that another government is forced to launch Operation Lal Masjid II? Can somebody please let me know so that I may sleep in peace?
