WHILE being enlightened by Pervez Rahim about Labour Day (May 1), I would like to point out that May 1 is not observed in the US as Labour Day and neither is it a holiday. Labor (this is how they spell it) Day is observed at the end of summer.
May 1 passes by without any public or government recognition. Indeed most people are unaware of its significance. Perhaps you or one of your illustrious readers or the US embassy can comment on this anomaly.

Well don't you understand that America drives on the right
America light switches are pushed down to switch off unlike rest of the world
America uses pounds instead of kilograms
America uses miles instead of kilometers.
This is just a resentment / protest against the British colonialists who were once the Masters of America.
I hope this tells you something.

Dear Dr , it is called labor day, its a holiday and its always first Monday of September, what ever date it is.you should check your facts before writing, as is, there is enough misinformation around.Spelling is a difference between US and British styles and nothing more. Canada is the same.

United States saw that protest on Chicago tragedy as a communist uprising. The communist uprising was crushed by the police.
