Farhan Akhtar, who will be portraying legendary Indian Olympian Milkha Singh in his upcoming film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, spent 18 months toning his body.

The movie talks of Singh’s life as a gold medal-winning sprinter who triumphed over personal adversity.

Marathon in four cities

Filmmakers these days are leaving no stone unturned to come up with unusual and innovative marketing strategies to promote their films. The latest we’ve heard is that Farhan Akhtar will go on a four-city tour and run a marathon in each of the places in a lead-up to his next release, Bhaag Milkha

Bhaag (BMB). The events will be held in Delhi, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Jaipur reported HT.

A source close to the production house reveals, “Ever since the promotions started, everyone has been asking Farhan about the practice that went into playing the role of Milkha Singh. That’s why the makers have decided to give the audiences a chance to watch him run a marathon and participate with him.”

The mini marathon will comprise a 3-5 km long run. “Many school and college students will be running with Farhan. They were selected via contests held by the makers recently.”

A spokesperson from Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, the co-producers of the movie, confirms the news, saying, “The curiosity to see Farhan running a marathon is at its highest. He has been able to transcend boundaries and has become the Milkha Singh of celluloid.”
