LAHORE, July 1: A gunman was arrested after a police encounter while outlaws plundered cash and valuables worth Rs1.9 million in two major strikes in the city on Monday.

Sabzazar police said three gunmen snatched the car of Fazal in E-Block and fled towards L-Block. Four Mohafiz Force officials, who were patrolling the area, chased the suspects who opened fire at them. The policemen also fired back which left one of the suspects injured. Two other suspects fled the scene leaving the snatched car. Police took the injured suspect into custody and shifted him to hospital. Police identified injured as Shah Muhammad.

In other hits, four gunmen broke into the poultry farm of Sajid in City Raiwind police remit and looted Rs1 million and four cell phones from the people present at the farm.

Three gunmen barged into the house of Shafique in Faisal Town police remit and took away cash and valuables worth Rs900,000 from the family.
