ISLAMABAD, June 8: The newly-appointed minister of state for housing and works Barrister Usman Ibrahim on Saturday hinted at vacating all illegally-occupied government houses.

After formally assuming charge as Minister of State for Housing and Works, Mr. Usman gave instructions for provision of a complete and updated Survey Report, submitted in the Supreme Court, regarding status of all government housing units in Islamabad.

The minister said that the present government had taken up responsibilities with the objective to deliver on merit and there would be no tolerance for corrupt practices.

Earlier on arrival at the ministry, he was received by housing and works officials.

He was given an introductory briefing about the working of the ministry and its attached departments.

Detailed briefing about the ministry and its attached departments is scheduled to be given to the minister next week.
