BAHAWALPUR, June 1: The Bahawalpur bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has reinstated Prof Salim Raza as principal of the Sadiq Public School (SPS).

SPS Board of Governor chairman Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood had removed the principal, who challenged this order in the Lahore High Court, Bahawalpur bench. The governor had asked SPS Vice-Principal Prof Syed Abdullah Shah to take over the charge of the office of principal.

According to a press release issued on Saturday by SPS PRO, on the petition of Prof Raza, Mr Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti suspended the order of the Punjab governor and reinstated Prof Salim Raza, who resumed his duties as principal.

CABLE OPERATORS: The local TV cable operators continued their protest against police for the second day on Saturday by disrupting transmission of several TV channels and staging a sit-in here.

According to the cable operators association, the police could not so far arrest those who had allegedly attacked one of their members on Friday.

The association further alleged theft of cable wires in the areas of Bindra Pulli and other localities last night .It alleged that police had not so far registered the second case of theft against their rivals.

The association members staged a sit-in against the police officials of Sadar police station for not entertaining their complaint of theft of their wire in the locality of Bindra Pulli.

Meanwhile, a large number of viewers protested against the disruption of TV transmissions by the cable operators in the city and suburbs.
