PESHAWAR: At least 17 militants were killed and several others injured when Pakistani jets bombed militant hideouts in the Kurram tribal region during a security forces operation on Thursday, DawnNews reported.
The militants were killed when four insurgent hideouts were destroyed in the action in central Kurram's Tabay area. Moreover, several militants were also injured, official sources told DawnNews.
A military operation has been ongoing in central Kurram for past three weeks. Reportedly, at least 100 militants have been killed and several insurgent hideouts have been destroyed during this time.
Kurram, which is close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, is one of the seven regions in Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), governed by tribal laws. An extremist insurgency led by the Pakistani Taliban plagues the region while the area is known to be infested with militants, including those from Al Qaeda, Taliban and several other armed extremist organisations.

Infested with militants, including those from Al Qaeda, Taliban and several other armed extremist organisations. Interesting terminology used now. These very thugs were once hailed as freedom fighters and Mujahideen when they killed others in some other countries.

It seems Dawn has a correspondent present at the site to confirm the causalities among the militants. I wonder if his lordship will take suo moto notice of this undeclared war against the very people who have helped Pakistan back in 1948.
One thing is certain; Pashtoons as a nation have never had such a hiding before in their history, as given them by the valiant Pak army.

Those were different people and these are criminal, who are paid by the foreign agencies, to fight against Pakistan. Just think how they can fight 10 years of war with Pakistan army, some one is funding them and providing them arms from Afghanistan, it is a misconception that ISI is supporting them. Do you think ISI is funding them to kill Pakistani soldiers and innocent civilians?

Those who fought for Pakistan, they were Mujahiddin. Those who are fighting against Pakistan, are Ghaddars (rebels), militants and terrorists. The first set of people, the Mujahiddin are dead or too old to fight. The new set of people are militants and terrorists, enemies of humanity. They are not Mujahiddins.

The drug barons of Afghanistan perhaps funds all the militancy both in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The chaos is good for them as they can export their heroin. It is no small amount that they make, even with all the interdiction they still get enough out which makes them 5 to 8 billion dollars from the heroin trade, that is enough money to keep Karzai and the rest bribed and never ever let any order prevail in Afghanistan. Karzai brother was killed, he too was a drug smuggler. This land was never meant to be country, the Brits while in India tried twice to conquer it, failed,then installed Shuja as king who was raised in India. This was to keep the other empire Russia from coming south. The fact is it will remain a trouble spot forever now. Wait till the Americans scale down. The Taliban want to run the country so that they can pocket this wealth earned from the heroin trade. Pakistan will have its hands full from this troublesome neighbor.

The writ of the Pakistan Central Govt. must run over the Entire Territory of Pakistan and not necessarily over a few Provinces.The Terrorists,wherever they are,must be brought out from their hideouts,and eliminated.Those who volunteer to surrender to the Authorities must be rehabilitated.
