Totally agree with Mr. Perwaiz. It is about time we pass the message that entering Pakistan is a privilege. Need to pass a strong message that we too take actions to ensure such incident is not repeated in future.

They are probably dual citizens. How do you stop that? What could happen is that the UK government can ban them from flying for life or atleast the airlines could refuse to take them on board.

The best would be to have their British citizenship cancelled, if possible!

cant agree more.......these so called nationals are taking our national pride for granted. a stern message to all,,,, they would not dare to do this on A BA flight or emirates flight....then why on our national carrier....problem lies with our own people not management....

Banning won't help, if they go to jail in UK for 10 years, Instead of pointing out just two persons, all UK criminals must be banned from entering Pakistan. Pakistan is alredy full of too many criminals on the loose!

Yes, Paksitan should follow agressive policy in this regard to avoid hassle for its nationals and embarrasment for its national carier. Ban them from entering Paksitan forever....

The Pilot took the right decision and Manchester authorities took the right action as per book. But suppose it had been a return flight to Lahore. Would our authorities have done the same thing? I doubt very much. Had the family been politically connected the reporting pilot would have been given a hard time and no witnesses would have come forward. While nobody goes to the extent of threatening to blow up the plane, it is quite normal to see brawls among the passengers themselves as well as with the crew, not caring for the instructions to wear the seat-belts or put off the cell phones, over stuffing the overhead bins etc. on Pakistan bound flights. This culture is what makes us a backward nation.

This is flawed logic.... The author mentions that the two british nationals should be banned from entering the country since "This will avoid such incidents in the future." However, in his own letter, he points out that the arguments were among a family of EIGHT members. Is the author saying that by singling out the British nationals, the other 6 would not be involved in such an indecent again?

Not sure if its legally possible to impose a 10 year/life ban if they are pakistani passport holders alongwith the british passports .... However, a significant financial penalty is in order ... Hit where it hurts i would say and the english are good at that...

The suggestion is good. Country should always be first and respected. A law can always be enacted in this regard if there is none.

Don't people of other countries on other airlines ever argue? They are never considered a threat to international security. We, the common people of Pakistan should not be made to pay for the sins of our security establishment.

A penalty along the lines of few thousand pounds on each of the two individuals will be appropriate to set an example. If it proves to be a family dispute, how can you impose other penalties on just two ? Such punishment should cover all individuals involved.

The have flight marShalls on board, they should have intervened and handcuffed the culprits for the rest of the duration of flight...

What are you talking about?, Pakistan is the second most hated country in the world according to a recent poll, this was not caused by these two people but the entire Pakistani leadership. PIA is well known to be led by corrupt officials and is a disgrace to the country. The problem with our country is that we see the crimes of small personalities and people of no meaning but we dare speak out regarding the crimes of the high and mighty. The poor and ordinary are the ones being opressed and the so called political elite or shall I call them political shite, are the ones that are enoying the fruits of thier looted booty. The author is saying by imposing that ban on the 2 british nationals, who said they would destroy the plane in the middle of a flight, will avoid anyone threatening like this on petty arguments.

Dont think Pakistan CAN do anything in this instance. Fact of the matter is that the flight was Manchester bound and the incident took place in the English airspace i.e. some 4000 miles away from the pakistani airspace .... also they are british nationals so lets not ASSUME reponsiblity for the actions of every Tom, Dick and Harry.
