LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif was presiding over a meeting on measures to address the country’s energy and financial crises on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.

Over 25 experts were also attending the meeting in Raiwind to consider strategies to resolve the two most pressing issues facing the country.

The meeting was also discussing options such as construction of dams and other short and long term measures to address the country’s power crisis.

PML-N’s Punjab president Shahbaz Sharif, party leaders Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Khawaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal, and others, including Shaukaat Tareen, a brother of PTI leader Jehangir Tareen, were present at the meeting.

The meeting comes days after PML-N secured the highest number of seats in Pakistan’s National Assembly elections with Nawaz Sharif expected to take oath as prime minister.

The party has every now and then vowed to address the issue of energy crisis and has also declared economy as the most challenging issue confronting the country.
