The police official concerned when contacted confirmed that Waheed Ahmed of Mandi Bahauddin and Mohammd Ijaz of Gujranwala had been arrested.

The arrested men, who had been in police custody, were sent to Adiala jail for identification on Wednesday. After the identification parade (legal process), both of them would be handed over to police for further interrogation.

Out of six suspects, Waqas and Dilshad were arrested some eight days back and their ringleader, Dr Arshad and his three accomplices Mazhar Hussain, Iqbal Ahmed and Wasif Mehmood were nabbed in December last.

They are allegedly the members of banned outfit, Lashkar-i-Jhangvi.

However, the Choa Saidan Shah SHO, Inspector Mian Mohammad Noman, did not confirm the arrest of Dr Arshad, but said the other four had been arrested by his team.

Four security men and a civilian were found shot dead on November 12,

2011 after they had gone missing during an unsuccessful attempt to capture a leader of Lashkar-i-Jhangvi in Pir Chunbbal, one of the most dangerous areas in Jhelum district's Pind Dadan Khan town.

Dr Arshad, wanted by the local police in kidnapping for ransom and other heinous crimes, belonged to Pind Dadan Khan town.

Major Afaq Ahmed and his three subordinates, Mohammad Mazhar, Mohammad Amjad, Mohammad Fiaz along with a civilian Maqsood Ahmed set out in search of Dr Arshad after intelligence report said that he was hiding in Pir Chunbbal.

As the team did not report back, a search operation was launched which found their bodies in the hilly area.
