KARACHI, Jan 9: A man was killed and five others were wounded in an armed clash between two groups in the Bin Qasim area on Monday, police said.

They said that the clash took place in Behram Bugti Goth within the remit of the Bin Qasim police station, where the two groups clashed with each other over a land dispute.

They said that both groups exchanged gunfire with the result that six persons Kashif Ali Bugti, Talib Hussain Bugti, Wali Khan, Qurban, Saif and Zahid Shah sustained bullet wounds.

The wounded were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where 27year-old Kashif Bugti died during treatment.

The police said that both the groups had clashed sever-al times in the past.

An FIR in connection with the killing as well as the armed clash was yet to be lodged at the Bin Qasim police station.

Trader shot dead A trader was shot dead in an Orangi Town locality on Monday, police said.

They said that the incident took place in the MPR Colony, Baloch Goth, where 29-yearold Mohammad Ayub was having tea with two other persons.

Quoting witnesses' statement, the police said that all of a sudden an altercation broke out between Ayub and the two men and one of them pulled out a pistol and fired at Ayub.

They said that the victim sustained a bullet wound in the head and died on the spot.

The two unidentified menmanaged to flee following the killing, the police said.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Orangi Town SHO Asif Rauf said that the victim was a resident of Quetta and had come to Karachi on a business trip.

He said that the victim was unmarried, adding that the victim's family would be arriving in Karachi following which further details could be obtained.

Watchman killed A watchman of an apartment building was shot dead near Fehlwan Goth on Monday, police said.

They said that 32-year-old Asif was going home in Pehlwan Goth on a cycle when two armed men riding a motorcycle intercepted him in Gulistan-i-Jauhar's Block 9, fired at him and fled.
