KOHAT, Dec 8: The volunteers of a peace committee in Darra Adamkhel destroyed the empty house of a militant commander after giving warning to his family to leave the area.

Sources said on Thursday that the members of the peace committee gathered in Sher Alam Kallay area and blew up the house of militant commander Azmatullah alias Azmatay with explosives.

“The militant commander has been blamed for harassing tribesmen, extorting money and carrying out other terror activities in the area,” they added.

After getting warnings from the elders the militant commander left the area while his family was also ordered to leave the place forever, a punishment awarded to criminals under tribal customs. Nobody was present in the house when it was blown up.

In Landi Kotal tehsil of Khyber Agency, the house of a Nato fuel supplier was damaged while a Zakhakhel tribesman was injured in two separate blasts on Thursday.
