Man killed

RAWALPINDI, Nov 20: A man was killed after a Town Municipal Administration (TMA) truck hit him in the limits of Waris Khan police station on Sunday, police said.

Syed Ishtiaq Ali Zaidi, aged 50, was going home along with his son, when the truck hit him, injuring him critically.

He was shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The truck driver managed to escape from the scene while his vehicle was impounded. Police have registered a case. — Staff Reporter

Four injured in stove blast

ATTOCK, Nov 20: Four members of a family received serious burn injuries when a gas stove exploded in Pindwal village of Saddar police station on Sunday.

Sources said the stove went off with a bang in the house of Niaz Muhammad, a rickshaw driver. As a result, Niaz,, his wife and two children sustained burn injuries and were rushed to the DHQ hospital. Later, they were shifted to a burn unit in Rawalpindi due to their critical condition.

In another incident, a woman and her three children fell unconscious after taking rotten meal. They were immediately shifted to DHQ hospital for treatment.— Correspondent

Seminar held

ISLAMABAD, Nov 20: In order to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), the Young Entrepreneurs Forum (YEF) of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) held a seminar titled, ‘Inspiring a new wave of Entrepreneurs.’

The GEW, which was celebrated for the first time in Pakistan, is an annual event where entrepreneurs and potential entrepreneurs from over 120 countries get together over the week to promote the culture of entrepreneurship. The seminar was organised in collaboration with Center for International Private Enterprise, which was a US Chamber of Commerce affiliated body, and Junior Chamber International (Islamabad).

Speaking on the occasion, President ICCI Yassar Sakhi Butt said it was imperative to exploit the talent of the youth to harness their skills and capabilities. He pointed out some of the hurdles the youth faced in starting a new venture and one of which was easy access to capital. —Staff Reporter
