LAKKI MARWAT, Aug 10: Police have arrested 15 outlaws in different parts of the district while two people reportedly committed suicide in Abakhel and Tajori localities. “Police have launched a campaign against the criminal gangs in different parts of the district during the holy month of Ramazan,” said a police official on Wednesday.

He said that a raiding party of Lakki Marwat police station arrested six wanted criminals in Naverkhel and Wanda Khawas villages. The arrested proclaimed offenders were identified as Ibrahim, Asmatullah, Ilyas, Abdul Qayyum, Ghulam Daud and Ajmal Khan – all wanted by police in various cases, including murder and attempted murder.

Separately, Naurang town police party, led by SHO Asad Shah, caught a proclaimed absconder Farmanullah while another party of Tajori police station apprehended two outlaws identified as Yaqoob and Khial Mohammad.

In another action, a police party of Lakki Marwat police station arrested five alleged gamblers in Abakhel village. The police said that those arrested included Khan Malook, Shoaib, Gul Zaman, Ibrahim and Musafir. The police also arrested an alleged drug trafficker at the main bus stop in Lakki city and recovered a small quantity of hashish from his possession. The alleged outlaw was identified as Niamatullah, a resident of Wanda Samandi.

Meanwhile, In Tajori, one Wali Khan, 22, shot and killed himself with a pistol while a man Hakim Khan, 50, ended his life by hanging himself with a tree in Abakhel village, the police claimed.
