RAWALPINDI, July 6: A batch of 31 illegal Pakistani immigrants deported by Turkish authorities arrived at Benazir Bhutto Airport on Wednesday, the immigration authorities said.A senior official of the Federal Investigation Agency's immigration wing said that a group of 31 illegal immigrants deported by Turkish authorities arrived here on a PIA flight PK-762 from Istanbul.

They were captured by the Turkish authorities during last two months and were kept in detention centers for illegally entering into the country. Later they were deported back to Pakistan.

On reaching the airport, all the deportees were arrested by the FIA staff and shifted to the Passport Cell.

The authorities said separate cases were registered against the deportees and their travel agents who had earned Rs100,000 to Rs150,000 from each for sending them to Greece via Turkey.

The deportees who belong to different parts of Punjab province especially Gujranwala division will be produced in the court of magistrate and later they would be released after paying fine of Rs 2000 on each of them.

Greece and other European countries had been charm for many Pakistanis – especially those living in Gujranwala division who try to reach their though illegal routes after paying large sum of money to travel agents in order to earn more.
