KARACHI, June 30: A Sindh government employee was gunned down in a Nazimabad area when he was driving home on Thursday, police said.

They said that 52-year-old Aqeel Ahmed was intercepted near the Nazimabad traffic intersection by two men on a motorbike.

They pulled him out of the car and shot him dead, the police said, adding that the victim received three gunshot wounds.

His body was taken to the Abbasi Shaeed Hospital. Aqeel Ahmed lived in an apartment near the Nagan Chowrangi.

“The victim was employed as a cameraman with the chief minister's inspection team,” said Station House Officer of the Rizvia police station Sub-Inspector Masroor Ahmed.

“He was driving the car [GL-3239] when targeted by the armed riders. The motive and the people behind the incident are not clear yet,” the police officer said.
