LAHORE, March 24: A judicial magistrate on Thursday extended physical remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Chaudhry Moonis Elahi in the National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) scam.

Federal Investigation Agency authorities produced Moonis before the magistrate and sought a seven-day extension in the remand as the investigation was still in progress.

The court, however, allowed four-day remand and directed the agency to produce him on March 28.

A large number of PML-Q workers gathered on the court premises who chanted slogans when Moonis was brought to the court in an armoured personnel carrier.

Party workers accused Interior Minister Rehman Malik of getting all fake proceedings initiated against their leader. — Staff Reporter
