HYDERABAD, Jan 13: Noted Sindhi intellectual Mohammad Ibrahim Joyo will undergo bypass surgery at the Aga Khan University Hospital on Thursday.

Joyo, in his mid-90s, had to be hospitalised in Civil Hospital several days after he complained of cardiac pain. He remained there under treatment for sometime and then shifted to Karachi for angiography.

“The angiography examination indicated blockage of arteries and we have been advised bypass. We are moving to Aga Khan Hospital where surgery would be performed on Thursday,” said Mehboob Joyo, son of Ibrahim Joyo.

He said that his father’s condition was stable and he would soon be shifted to Aga Khan Hospital. He criticised a TV channel that broadcast news about his father’s death.
