Kaka Sanober remembered

QUETTA, Jan 3: Speakers at a seminar on Saturday paid homage to poet and intellectual Kaka Sanober Hussain Mohamand for his role in the promotion of Pushto literature and the freedom struggle against British colonialism.

The programme organised at the press club was chaired by Dr Shah Mohammad Marri. Afghan Consul General in Quetta Mohammad Daud Musuvi and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party leader Dr Hamid Khan Achakzai spoke on the role of Pukhtun leaders and literary scholars.Prof Naseem Achakzai, Dr Abdur Rauf Rafiqi and Azizullah Pakhtwi read out their papers.

The Afghan diplomat said there was a need to promote services rendered by Pukhtun leaders in the freedom movement. He lauded the heroic role of Khushal Khan Khattak, Mir Wais Baba, Jamaluddin Afghani, Ghazi Amanullah Khan, Shah Waliullah, Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan and Khan Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai in the struggle against foreign occupation.
