People Rally behind army

GUJRANWALA, Dec 23: Activists of politico-religious parties, trade organisations and civil society took out a joint rally to protest against aggressive attitude of India towards Pakistan and pledged that people would foil any adventure.

The rally started from Gondlanwala Chowk and terminated at Sheranwala Bagh after marching along GT Road. The protesters were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans against India.

Speakers, including Hameeduddin Awan of Jamaat-i-Islami, Furqan Aziz Butt of Shabab-i-Milli, Sheikh Muhammad Afzal of Cloth Market Board, Ziaullah Irfani of Citizen Council and Malik Zaheerul Haq of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry said the army had the strong support of the nation and it would foil any Indian aggression.

Offenders: Police on Tuesday released the names of most wanted proclaimed offenders carrying Rs500,000 to Rs1 million bounty on their heads.

Releasing the names of the offenders, Regional Police Officer Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema directed station house officers to arrest the criminals within a week or face action.

The list carries the names of Ahmad Saeed, Zubair Saeed and Amir Saeed of Nat Kalan village, Muhammad Asif of Kamoki, Faiz Rasool, Zakaullah, Gul Baz, Hashim, Abdul Hamid, Raza Saifullah, Habb Ahmad, Qaisar Sadiq, Ashiq, Zahid Akhtar, Muhammad Idris, Ghulam Abbas, Rafiq, Muhammad Ali, Muhammad Idris, Shahnawaz, Muhammad Anees, Amanullah, Abid Hussain, Zafar Iqbal and Tahir Mehmod of Naushehra Virkan and Kamoki tehsil.

TRAFFICKERS: Human traffickers sent 5,500 people abroad from January to November this year, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Additional Director Husain Asghar said here on Tuesday.

He said traffickers sent 3,288 people abroad during the same period last year. He said FIA arrested more than 790 traffickers during first 11 months of this year.
