MIRPURKHAS, Dec 14: Ten to 14 hours of unannounced loadshedding has led to closure of small industries including oil spellers and chakkis, leading to shortage of flour in the city.

The power utility resumed prolonged and unannounced loadshedding after Eid in Mirpurkhas, Mirwah Gorchani, Digri, Tando Jan Mohammad, Jhuddo, Naokot, Kot Ghulam Mohammad, Shadi Palli, Jhilori, Khaan and Patoyoon.

Social workers and residents of the towns demanded that the chairman of Wapda take notice of the problem and ensure that the consumers receive uninterrupted supply of power.

After braving loadshedding during scorching summer, people of Mirpurkhas and other parts of Sindh had heaved a sigh of relief as power supply had almost normalised with the advent of winter. However, the respite has proved to be temporary with resumption of loadshedding.
