KARACHI, Dec 14: Two people were killed on Sunday in separate acts of violence in the city.

A 25-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband in their house in Rasheedabad. The Baldia Town police said that the suspect, Dost Mohammed, fled after giving his wife, Yasmin, a fatal beating.

The victim’s cousin, Shaheen Khan Mehsud, told Dawn that the 30-year-old suspect was a private security guard, and he had married the victim two months ago.

The police said that neighbours had heard the couple quarrelling before the suspect fled. They said the woman died on the way to Civil Hospital Karachi.

Sources at the hospital’s medico-legal section said that the victim was also stabbed, and had received fatal wounds to her head.

The police registered a case against the suspect on the complaint of the victim’s brother, Zamir Khan.

According to the police, both the suspect and the victim hailed from Waziristan.

Body found

The body of a 22-year-old man was found in PIB Colony on Sunday. Police say the victim was stabbed to death.The police said that Javed, son of Mir Rehman, hailed from Buner and had been living with his paternal uncle since he arrived in the city two months ago.
