KARACHI, Dec 13: Having completed a hat-trick in the last run, three-year-old chestnut colt Giranari is rated to stretch his winning streak when he appears in the eighth race of the Gymkhana race meeting at Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

The colt from the stables of Shah Mardan Shah Pir Pagara has shown consistent form in the last three outings by winning hands down under jockey Essa.

If one goes by his current form, he enjoys an edge over his opponents after being promoted to top division of class VII and is expected to repeat the winning feat.

Those who are likely to follow his footsteps for the places are filly Moon Dazzler and colt Mushki.

Another form horse likely to catch the eye is two-year-old chestnut filly After Shock who is fancied to lift the Eid-ul-Azha Cup to be run over five furlongs.

Both fillies — After Shock and Shooter — belonging to the same connection are drawn in a field of 11 runners, including two debutants, for the cup and the former is tipped to make it two on the trot with Nasir in the saddle.

Shooter and another filly Lil Kimm should chase After Shock for the places.

After galloping to a facile six lengths’ victory on Nov 30, five-year-old chestnut Sindh Malook is fancied to dominate the next race and present owner Ghulam Dastagir Rajar with a winner. His likely challengers are Dilruba and Blind Date.

Similarly, seven-year-old bay Manan Prince is favourite to return with flying colours in the seventh race by getting the better of other contenders.

If tried, three-year-old bay filly Kabhi Kabhi should rule the ninth and last race.

Bay Sharp Edge has a slender edge over mediocre rivals in the opener.

Bay mare Rangilee, colt Spider Man and filly Jadu Jantar should make amends by returning with flying colours in the remaining three races.

However, if tried, Eager Saint can upset the applecart in the third race.

A card of nine races, including a cup, has been drawn for the day. The first race gets into action at 12.00noon.
